Abrasive tube notcher v2
After sitting around and being used as vertical belt grinder, I revisited the design of my 2013 abrasive tube notcher, to make the changing of belt and roll easier and faster. In the process I also made it possible to use any length of belt, by making the motor slide along the beam. It's a cheap and efficient way to miter your tubes, particularly the thin stainless tubes that are otherwise hard to cut with a standard hole saw.
Après avoir pris un temps la poussière et été recyclé en ponceuse a bande verticale, j'ai repensé mon grugeur abrasif de 2013, pour faciliter et améliorer le temps de changement de la bande et du rouleau. Dans la foulée j'ai aussi rendue possible l'utilisation de n'importe quelle longueur de bande en faisant coulisser le moteur le long de la poutre. C'est un moyen économe et efficace de gruger des tubes, surtout les tubes fins en Inox qui niquent les dents des scies cloches standards.
Blaz’s “modern-old-school” bike
With the shortage of bikes around, I stripped a dusty show bike from 2016 to build a friend a MTB. And just to make it that little bit more special, we threw in a Lefty, a 27.5*2.6" rear wheel paired with a 29*2.6" front wheel, a 68 deg head angle and a 3x10 drivetrain (remember those ?), but we took out the small chainring, cause in Denmark 2x10 is more than you need :-) Painted it Black but kept the polished alu wheels with QR, for the old school touch ! (Warning: our younger audience may not understand all these choices)
Avec la pénurie actuelle de vélos, j'ai dépouillé un vélo de démo de 2016 qui prenait la poussière pour construire un VTT a un pote. Et pour rendre le tout un peu plus unique, on y a mis une fourche Lefty, une roue arrière de 27.5*2.6" jumelé a une roue de 29*2.6" a l'avant, un angle de direction a 68 deg et une transmission 3x10 (vous vous rappelez?), mais on a viré le petit plateau, au Danemark 2x10 vitesses suffisent :-) Pour la couleur c'est simple, tout noir, mais avec des roues en alu poli attache-rapides pour le coté old-school ! (Attention: nos plus jeunes lecteurs ne comprendront pas forcement tous ces choix)
Build, build, build…
It's been a while since a built a frame and I was itching to grab the torch again. In order to make the best of a full framebuilding week I invited Sam Fox from Redfox Cykler in Copenhagen to join me in the workshop. In just 5 days we built 3 frames, that goes to show how much more efficient you can be when you team up !
Ca fait un bail que je n'avais pas construit un cadre, ça me démangeait de reprendre la torche. Pour mettre a profit une semaine complète de fabrication, j'ai invité Sam Fox de chez Redfox Cykler a Copenhague a me rejoindre dans l'atelier. En a peine 5 jours, on a construit 3 cadres, comme quoi travailler a deux booste la productivité !
